We attended the second day of presentation of the Technological Centre for Development and Experimentation, which is planned to be built in Jaén (Spain) in the coming years. The event brought together more than 300 professionals, stakeholders from institutional, academic, and business spheres, to bring to life this centre of excellence in R&D and technological development for Defence.
To achieve its goals, the CETEDEX in Jaén will have three pillars:
- Anti-Drone Defence Systems, composed of a complete system with detection and neutralization capabilities, featuring an experimentation zone, a controlled radiation zone, and a flight and sensor installation zone.
- Intelligent Vehicles, capable of testing and certifying advanced driving assistance systems for both military and industrial/agricultural vehicles. This includes a high-speed circuit, an urban area, and a dual-lane interurban circuit equipped with 5G infrastructure.
- Artificial Intelligence, conducting activities such as automatic and intelligent analysis of large volumes of data, development of technologies for predictive maintenance, analysis of multiple sources of information, and applications of biometric technologies.
A total initial public investment of 222 million is planned to realize this project, with the first tenders for project drafting already awarded. Undoubtedly, this is a centre that deserves our attention, and we will closely follow it to generate business opportunities for our partners.
